EIBTM 2013 is testing its new formula for improving interactions between buyers and suppliers. From its beginings in 2004, EIBTM hosted just over 2,024 buyers compared to 4,053 in 2012. With the new format, the exhibition has a more creative feel with informal meeting points and new Inovation and Genius areas for brief impact filled presentations where exhibitors can make a short pitch.
EIBTM was also excited to have expand the “Live Knowledge Programme” – an expansion of the one-day EIBTM hybrid event that was launched in 2012. These sessions enable access to the show for those unable to attend in person and so extends the reach of EIBTM.
EIBTM continues to improve its Hosted Buyer program where quality and accounability provide greater accurance for suppliers. Graeme Barnett(Senior Exhibition Manager,EIBTM, Reed Exhbitions) stated that ‘We are not afraid óf our stance affecting numbers of attendees, we feel quality is more important and strive to give exhibitors every opportunity to meet bona-fide meeting planners and industry professionals’.
Mr Barnett felt that generally speaking, budgets and confidence was increasing that was noticable on the floor through increased numbers of appointments.
