The Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau (GBCVB) has recently elected David R. Giblin, as the 2012 Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Mr Gibilin is has a background of 30-years of experience with the Marriott brand and has served on the GBCVB Board since 2006, is on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) and the Mass Lodging Association (MLA), and is a Trustee of Marlborough Hospital/UMass Memorial.
He is proud of the success the GBCVB where it has year after year continued to draw new visitors and convention delegates from around the globe. He looks forward to working with the GBCVB Board, staff, and the Boston and Cambridge visitor industry to make Boston and the region the most vibrant, enticing, and competitive destination possible. Giblin recently travelled to Tokyo recently on a sales mission to promote the new Japan Airlines non-stop Tokyo-Boston service, beginning 22 April, 2012. The GBCVB estimates a continued surge in overseas visitors, and the convention business.
