Reed Acquires Business Travel Market(BTM)


Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE)  announces its acquisition of Business Travel Market (BTM), the annual corporate travel conference and exhibition held at Excel London.  First launched in 2009 by  Paul Robin, BTM has doubled in size since the first show.  The Business Travel Market will form part of the global portfolio of meetings industry shows led by Craig Moyes, group exhibition director. BTM’s Hosted Buyer and pre-scheduled appointment system matches the business model for the current portfolio of business events run by Reeds, including EIBTM.  Richard Mortimore, MD of Reed Exhibitions said that this will be a strategically important part our travel portfolio of events.   Reed has monitored BTM’s progress and found its successful hosted buyer programme format complements its own.   The plan is to further consolidate BTM’s position in Europe as well as develop its brand in other markets.

It is also clear that corporate travel is integrated within the meetings and events sector, especially in emergingmarkets and this will allow us to incorporate this knowledge and expertise and provide added value to our shows around the world.”
BTM event director, Paul Robin, said that now that BTM is established,he is excited to look forward to developing BTM as part of the world’s largest event organiser.  With Reed’s  expertise, we have the opportunity to make take the vision further.
