The Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) is firmly established as the largest and most sought after events venue in the Middle East region is cementing its status even further by increasing its available space and winning a prestigious catering award.
Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) was named ‘Best Big Catering Company’ at the inaugural Food Safety and Hygiene Awards 2012, organised by Dubai Municipality, beating off stiff competition from top five-star hotels and airlines. It has also made available even further floor space to provide an extra 1,500sqm of meeting space. Such moves allow the DWTC’s to respond to changing demands and support the growth of the region’s business events and exhibitions sector, in particular small and medium sized conferences and meetings. The new spaces allow the DWTC to increase the number of small and medium sized conferences, and additional space to accommodate over 2,700 delegates attending the various trade shows at the venue.
The catering award recognized that DWTC has implemented various rigorous initiatives to ensure that its Hospitality division works efficiently to the highest capacity and in line with international standards. “Winning such a prestigious award is a tribute to the dedication and commitment of our team,” said Mohammed Al Jumairi, Vice President – Hospitality, Dubai World Trade Centre. Its unparalleled expertise in high profile weddings has also earned DWTC the reputation of being the preferred choice for Emirati and royal weddings across the UAE. DWTC boasts the emirate’s largest non-industrial catering production infrastructure, logistically equipped to handle concurrent large scale events. With 135 chefs and a 39,300 sq. ft. modern kitchen facility maintaining five-star health and hygiene certifications, the Hospitality team can serve as many as 15,000 guests in a day.
The region’s largest purpose built events complex, DWTC is recognized as being the catalyst for global business and event and hospitality services in the region.
